Our Carpinteria, CA location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Software Platform Architect to join our ADAS team. THE POSITION o The Lidar Software Engineering group for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Software Architect to lead the architecture design of our SW platform. Our Software group in Carpinteria, through close collaboration with global software development and test teams, is working on all architecture design, development, integration & testing activities for Continental's new generation of LIDAR sensors for applications in autonomous driving vehicles and other industries. The SW Release Train Architect will be responsible for defining discipline-specific architecture and providing guidelines for Agile Teams to be able to follow and respect the architectural decisions.
Responsibilities:
o Act as a technical leader, coach, and mentor and help Agile SW teams to improve the effectiveness o Act as the first-level contact regarding architectural and technical aspects of the product development o Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g. Systems, HW, Test, ) to document interfaces and dependencies o Work with customers, stakeholders, and 3rd party suppliers to establish the broad vision of the architectural intent o Define SW Architecture and decompose and allocate responsibilities to subsystems o Provide technological guidance and enable Agile Teams to further break down and implement complex system-level requirements o Understand the deployment of the system into the target hardware and formally specify the static design (interfaces, sub-systems, components, ) and dynamic behavior (high-level task models, start-up/shutdown sequences, component interactions, ) based on SW and HW architecture o Support SW Product Manager and SW Supplier Managers with make/buy decision for 3rd party solutions (e.g. off-the-shelf or open-source) or implement it internally o Respect and apply established internal and industry standards (e.g. Functional Safety, Security, Privacy) throughout architecture definition and guidelines o Participate in the overall planning on the program level and ensure necessary architecture inputs are available and ready for Agile Teams o Innovate, refine and adjust the architecture based on the feedback loop from development and test teams and the Continuous Delivery o Prepare technical decision options as input for the change control board and for management escalation WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY o Immediate Benefits o Paid Time Off o Tuition & Employee Discounts o Annual Bonus o Employer 401(k) Match o And more benefits that come with working for a global industry leader! Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS o Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline o Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded SW development and debugging using C/C+
o Experience with Automotive systems or Near Real Time operating environments, OSEK, AUTOSAR RTOS, Safety OS, Single or Multicore, etc. o Good understanding of operating system concepts such as Scheduling, Interrupts, Memory and Process management o Experience with common Software Configuration management systems (Git/GitHub, JIRA, etc.), Requirement management tools (IBM Doors etc.,) and Architecture Development (UML, Rhapsody) o Applicant must also possess strong communication, team, and presentation skills and be willing to work in a distributed global team environment o Willingness for occasional domestic or international travel to support knowledge transfer and global coordination of activities o Fluent in English PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS o Master's degree in related engineering field such as Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science o 7 years of experience developing SW according to standards and processes such as Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), ISO26262 and Agile methods such as SCRUM or SAFe o 5 years of experience developing SW based on Automotive SW Architecture (classic/adaptive AUTOSAR, Linux, QNX) o 3 years of leadership experience in technical/cross-functional projects or initiatives or as a SW engineer in a role across different architectural layers such as SW Architecture, SW Integration or Testing o 2 years of experience working in international, multi-cultural and large scale distributed project setup o o 2 years of experience with Automotive communication technologies and protocols such as CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet/LIN/FlexRay etc. o Experience with ARM Cortex-A and ARM Cortex-R processor families and architecture o Experience with Automotive testing tools such as Vector CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & Engineering, Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
