Vice President of Operations

Job SummaryThe Vice President of Operations is a top corporate executive responsible for creating and communicating the company?s operations vision and strategy. The Vice President of Operations is accountable for all site operations, with oversight of production, maintenance, and facility management. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the incumbent is responsible for the development and execution of both the short-term and long-term initiatives, respectively. Reports to EVP of Biomaterials/AT.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Leading all aspects of global manufacturing operations and supply chain, including three manufacturing sites in the United States. Aligns continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles with strategic objectives and key performance metrics to successfully support both organic and inorganic growth.
+ Collaborate with the human resources organization to develop and execute talent management strategies and maximize employee engagement while also driving cross-functional collaboration to optimize the portfolio and asset network.
+ Expands a ?take pride in quality? and safety-first culture that results in best-in-industry quality, proactive employee identification of process improvements to prevent inferior quality and consistent reduction in customer complaints and internal re-work in accordance with targeted metrics.
+ Develop sustained, productive and effective relations with key customers, suppliers, the FDA & other government agencies.
+ Complies and proactively adheres to all governmental regulations and requirements.
+ Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and quality requirements for silicones.
+ Provide visible leadership and hands-on partnership to support the company?s culture, mission and values.
+ Coaches team members with a focus on developing a highly skilled and capable organization that is empowered to take decisive action, move quickly, and maintain personal accountability at all levels.
+ Participates in the succession planning process to assess and improve operational performance and leadership strength.
Integrated Operational Acumen: The Vice President, Operations will have demonstrated success in driving operational effectiveness by leading the implementation of processes, tools and systems to enhance organizational decision-making. The executive must bring an analytical orientation, and a style of leading by example to ensure that decisions are made with information. He/she will have demonstrated experience building on a well-performing yet evolving culture and enhancing the business through employee engagement and a communicative, collaborative, team-oriented and hands-on style.
Developing and Implementing Work Processes: The Vice President, Operations will have to develop metrics, performance management systems and sophisticated work process to hold the team accountable and to track performance. This will include the adoption and the implementation of best-practice sharing, setting benchmarks independent of and beyond industry standards and driving disciplined, financially based decision making. He/she comes from an environment of commensurate size, complexity and manufacturing/distribution locations with deep expertise in the fields of continuous improvement activities (Lean / Six Sigma etc.) as well as having a keen understanding of state-of-the-art SCM analytics and system tools.
Directly manages employees in the Operations Organization as well as all satellite facilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

+ Requires an engineering or technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
+ Proven record of accomplishment of manufacturing operations leadership in complex markets with a global manufacturing asset footprint.
+ Requires minimum of 10 years of Operations experience.
+ Experience supporting functional Operations such as Customer Service, Transportation, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and/or Distribution preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be objective in decision-making.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
