Café Supervisor

Job Description

Schedule: 7am-4pm Mon-Fri

Requirement: 2 years in food service experience in one of the following positions: restaurant, banquet, or catering.


Responsible for the overall success of the Pixel Cafe. This means adhering to the Client's culture and guidelines, Health Department's regulations, and The Food Liaison's standards and expectations of food quality, freshness, and presentation. This position oversees sanitation and safety as well as overseeing/taking weekly inventory. This position also motivates, trains, develops and directs all employees to accomplish the objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers, and maintains a working relationship with the Client.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures all products and purchases meet The Food Liaison sustainability guidelines.

  • Takes inventory, stocks, cleans and maintains caf / Ordering all produce through specified vendors.

  • Ensures that overall look of Cafe meets The Food Liaison standards, as well as oversees the daily appearance and upkeep of the Cafe.

  • Organizes, reviews, and places the daily signage. Reviews the daily signage for proper spelling, descriptions, and icons.

  • Assists in training and supervises the daily conduct of the staff.

  • Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner while relaying to upper management of The Food Liaison.

  • Assists with the management and implementation of catering special events.

Job Requirements

  • Adheres to all Health Department, OSHA and ADA regulations.

  • Follows all safety guidelines.

  • Reports any injury, accident and/or food borne illness incident for customers and/or staff

  • accurately and in a timely manner to the Food and Events Program Manager.

  • Trains personnel in safe operating procedures of all equipment, utensils and machinery. Provides safety training in lifting, carrying, hazardous material control, chemical control, and first aid.

  • Valid driver's license required; must possess or able to obtain a valid food handler's permit. Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
